GAME DAY RECAP: January 31, 2026

Bishop’s College School (11) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (0) East U18 Prep

Bishop’s College School earned a significant victory over Ulysse Academie on Friday, only looking to build upon it on Saturday, a task they executed to perfection. Elliot Bertrand (2G, 1A) scored two in the first, and Luca Stasi (2G, 4A) took over in the second. BCS led 3-0 through twenty, but Stasi’s two goals and four points in the second period alone blew the game wide open before the game was even half over. The six goals in the second period were enough to secure a blowout, with two more in the third the cherry on top of a 11-0 win. BCS goaltender Timofey Williams (21/21) wasn’t as busy as his counterpart but still did everything required of him to earn the shoutout victory.

Lower Canada College (6) vs Bishop’s College School (3) East U17 Prep

Lower Canada College’s U17 Prep squad scored twelve goals on Friday in their win over Okanagan Hockey Ontario, leaving Bishop’s College School with an extremely daunting task on Saturday morning. Today’s game was a significantly tougher test for LCC, with their early 2-0 lead erased in quick fashion by BCS, who came from behind to tie the game at 2-2. Once things were all square in the second period, though, Lower Canada College went on a run that put breathing room between them and their opponents, led by Mario Lapenna (4G, 1A). Lapenna scored three of the next four goals after the game was tied at two, adding to his first-period goal to post four goals and five points today. Lapenna’s five points now brings his January totals to 15 goals and 32 points, with LCC having lost just once in 2026.

King Heights Academy (8) vs King’s Edgehill School (5) East U18 Prep

King’s Edghill School outplayed King Heights Academy in the majority of their Saturday clash; KES outshot KHS 11-5 in the first and 13-8 in the third periods, even outscoring King Heights 3-1 in the third period. However, the second period played by King Heights Academy and an emphatic offensive output. Semen Nizhnikov (4G, 2A) scored KHA’s only of the first period and went to work in a big way in the second. Nizhnikov scored three more goals and five more points in the second, helping KHA to six goals in the second alone. KES scored three in the third in their comeback efforts, but they couldn’t get any closer than that, losing 8-5.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U17

Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U17 squads’ first clash with Coeur d’Alene this weekend ended in a comeback win for OHA, with the visitors erasing a 3-1 deficit to win 5-3. OHA looked to follow up Friday’s comeback win with another positive result, and on Saturday, their outcome was more secure from the outset. Tyler Donaldson (1G, 2A) got the party started with a goal on OHA’s first powerplay of the game, the kick-off point for an OHA performance that didn’t give CDA a chance on Saturday. Converse to Friday’s game, OHA struck early and often, scoring four powerplay goals in the first two periods alone. Alongside Donaldson’s performance, Cole Schellenberg (2G, 2A) and four goals from Nathan Marques (4G, 2A) helped OHA to a thumping 8-0 win, aided by Hudson Swankhuizen’s 31-save shutout.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs Selwyn House School (5) East U17 Prep

Selwyn House School’s victory over Okanagan Hockey Ontario on Saturday was defined by their start to the game, as after just one period of play, it was clear that OHO had a near-impossible mountain to climb. John Chatzis (3G) scored twice to have Selwyn two in front in the first 45 seconds of the game, a first period that saw Selwyn score twice more following that, leading 4-0 through twenty minutes of play. OHO’s performance improved, but the deficit they fell into through one was too great to climb out of, as Selwyn held on for the 5-1 win.

Mount Academy (2) vs Fort Erie International Academy (3) East U18 Prep

Fort Erie International Academy came into their final game of January 2026 looking to complete the month with a perfect 4-0 record, fighting Mount Academy for the second time this season. Early in the first period, Fort Erie grabbed goals from Yuri Baunov and Christophe Gagne within 2:28 of one another to grab FEIA a 2-0 lead. Mount snatched one back, but the lead held by FEIA kept them 2-1 in front all the way until the third period. Konstantin Zhibarovkii tied the game at 2 in the back half of the third period, but unfortunately for them, the game would be tied for just 37 seconds. Pascal Bezares (1G, 1A) scored to reestablish Fort Erie’s lead, making it 3-2 FEIA. The admirable Mount Academy comeback came up short with Fort Erie picking up the win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U15

Yale Hockey Academy’s U15 contingent scraped past Okanagan Hockey Academy on Friday, with Matthew Tang’s overtime winner lifting YHA above OHA by a 3-2 scoreline. The two played once more on Saturday, with the victor, Yale, making quicker work of their OHA counterparts. Jack Hagen (3G) scored the first of what would eventually be a hat-trick in the first period, with his goal added to by Friday’s overtime hero Matthew Tang (1G, 1A) scoring later in the first, with the defenceman popping up with another productive offensive outing from the back end. Hagen’s two second period goals to complete his hat-trick led the way to Yale’s 5-1 win.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U15

The Calgary International Hockey Academy and Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 squads played twice head-to-head in January, at the beginning and end of the month, with Saturday’s head-to-head clash following a 6-1 win by NAX over CIHA back on January 7. NAX won three of the four games the two teams had played this season prior to Saturday, but through two periods, it looked like CIHA’s day, with Calgary leading 1-0 through two periods. However, come the third, NAX took the game over. Mason Zimmer (2G, 1A) scored twice and Jace Hilliard made 20 saves on 22 shots in the game for Northern Alberta, with four in the third from NAX yielding a 4-2 win.

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U17

A pair of early penalties to Prairie Hockey Academy’s U17 squad presented RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg a five-on-three opportunity a mere 42 seconds into the hockey game, a start Prairie would have done anything to avoid. Worse yet, RHAW struck on the five-on-three, leading 1-0 and remaining on the powerplay following the goal. That situation could have easily been RHAW’s chance to stick an early dagger into Prairie Hockey Academy. However, in quick succession, PHA flipped the script on RHAW. On that same early penalty kill, Prairie scored two short-handed goals, with Noah Delaurier (1G, 2A) and Jake Myhre (1G, 1A) scoring less than one minute apart to establish a 2-1 lead. Momentum was squarely in the hands of Prairie, with two more goals in the first period establishing an early 4-1 lead, the polar opposite of what RHAW would have hoped for after the early five-on-three and goal. RHAW pushed Prairie hard following the first, mounting a comeback effort that got them back within two. Come the third, though, Ivey Vermuelen (2G) scored his second of the game, with Soren Hayden (1G, 2A) plunging the dagger into RHAW to lead Prairie to the 6-3 win.

Balmoral Hall School (15) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) Female U18 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy’s Female U18 Prep squad haven’t been producing the results they’d have hoped in January, losing their first of the weekend yesterday. Balmoral Hall School didn’t give them too much of a break come Saturday, with four goals in the first half of the first period letting Balmoral run away with the game early, leading Balmoral to a 6-1 lead through twenty minutes. Balmoral wouldn’t maintain their pace of six goals per game, but they came pretty close. Six Balmoral players earned four or more points; Kate Chuback (4G, 1A) led the way with four goals, Lydia Hill (3G, 2A) picked up a hat-trick herself, with Matylda Stepien (2G, 2A), Sadie McKay (1G, 4A), Brannagh Rae (1G, 3A), and Payton Henwood (1G, 3A) chipping in big as well. Ultimately, Balmoral prevailed 15-3, hitting the PMHA net with 71 shots in all.

Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) Female U18 Prep

Saturday marked the fourth matchup between Delta Hockey Academy Black and Okanagan Hockey Academy Black’s Female U18 Prep squads in January alone. Delta Black had bested Okanagan Black in all six previous games this season, and unfortunately for OHA, Saturday wouldn’t get any better for OHAB. Okanagan made Delta work for it, tying the game at one in the first and watching goaltender Martha Sinagowitz (49/52) stop almost everything thrown at him, but DHAB shone through. Lucy Williams (1G, 1A) and Kinleigh Blane scored in the second to extend Delta’s lead to 3-1, and in the third, DHAB locked it down completely. Up 3-1, Delta Black managed to gold OHAB to just one shot on goal in the whole third-period, outshooting Okanagan Hockey Academy 21-1 and hanging on for the 3-1 win.

Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (3) vs CIH Academy (6) East U18 Prep

The Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks won 2-1 on Friday night over Okanagan Hockey Ontario in the Eastern U18 Prep division thanks to Dmitrii Titovskii’s third period game-winner. CIH Academy was their opponent on Saturday, and CIH arrived ready and able to knock off the Macericks. CIH scored four of the first five goals in the game, led by a pair of goals off the stick of Ricky Deslauriers. Jacob Kirstein was excellent in between the pipes for CIH, stopping a whopping 37 of 40 for the victory.

Edge School (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U15

Edge School’s U15 squad bested Prairie Hockey Academy in both of their previous two head-to-head contests heading into this weekend’s two-game set. Edge plays Prairie Saturday and Sunday, with Edge heading towards Saturday on the back of four straight wins. It took Edge awhile to really pull away from Prairie, with PHA staying in the fight throughout. The first two Edge School goals both met an equalizing goal from PHA, making it 2-2 as the game marched toward the end of the second. Late in the period, Edge popped up with two goals in just 50 seconds, with Parker Lascelle and Gio Niven (1G, 1A) scoring in quick-fire fashion. Colton Roussel’s second of the game in the third helped ensure Edge’s win over PHA.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (11) vs Notre Dame Hounds (1) U15 Prep

January for the Notre Dame Hounds’ U15 Prep squad hasn’t been producing the results they’d have wanted, but they played their best game of the season on Friday night, pushing RHA Winnipeg to the brink. RHAW won 6-4, but Notre Dame’s performance was by far their best of 2026. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a fight they were able to recreate against RINK Winnipeg on Saturday, with RHAW rolling through their provincial opponents. Easton Pitz (2G, 1A) scored twice in the first period to set the RHAW train in motion, and RINK Winnipeg would only increase their goal output as the game went on, scoring four in the second and five more in the third. In addition to the three points from Pitz, Ryder MacLean led the way with five points (2G, 3A) and Eli Wasylyk (2G, 2A) chipped in with two goals and four points. Nicholas Buhay wasn’t under much pressure but still made 27 saves on 28 shots for the win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy bested Okanagan Hockey Academy on Friday night at the Summit Centre in the first of back-to-back clashes between the two teams. OHA looked to respond with a bounceback in the second half of their weekend series, but unfortunately for them, one of Yale’s studs broke through in the first period. Teagan Dernisky scored a pair, the first assisted by Parker McMillan’s 78th point of the season. Yale extended the lead by two more goals in the second and were able to stem any OHA pushback, keeping themselves in a comfortable position. In addition to Dernisky’s pair of goals, Yale got two points apiece from Max Ritchey (1G, 1A), Tyson Wolanski (2A), and Killian Wall (2A) in the 5-1 win that saw them outshoot OHA 51-17.

OHA Edmonton (6) vs Edge School (4) U15 Prep

OHA Edmonton have been the cream of the crop in the U15 Prep division this season. Not many in Western Canada have been able to knock off an OHA Edmonton team, but NAX proved themselves to be one of them, winning 4-2 over the league leaders on Friday. Faced down with an Edge School test on Saturday, OHAE responded impressively. Edge School shut the door in the first, but OHAE went on to score four of the five second-period goals to give OHAE a commanding lead through two. Edge found a way to push back, no doubt giving OHAE the sweats, but Micah Montgomery’s (2G) early goal in the third stood as the winner in a 6-4 OHA Edmonton victory.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) vs OHA Edmonton (6) U17 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy sprinted into the lead in the first five minutes of the first period against OHA Edmonton in the U17 Prep division today, with goals from Maddox Ramage (1G, 1A) and Bladen Norton giving PMHA a 2-0 lead. Minutes after Pilot Mound’s second, PMHA went on the powerplay for the chance at a 3-0 lead early on. That powerplay, though, proved to be crucial in OHAE’s comeback. Kaysun Brunham and Jaxon Moss scored shorthanded goals for OHAE just 25 seconds apart to instantaneously drag the game back to even ground. OHAE wouldn’t leave the outcome uncertain from there, scoring two more before the first period had even ended to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Adam Zamecnik (2G, 1A) scored two in the second in a comeback effort for PMHA, but Hudson Blair’s (2G) second goal of the game in the second period made the difference. Jaxon Moss (2G) scored his second of the game in the third, both goals coming shorthanded, in a 6-4 OHA Edmonton win.

Prairie Hockey Academy (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U18 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme’s U18 Prep squad have been amongst the best in the CSSHL this season, but despite what’s been an excellent year, Prairie Hockey Academy recently bested NAX. Previous to January 24, Northern Alberta hadn’t lost once when the game has gone past regulation, but Prairie bested them 3-2 in a shootout. Saturday was NAX’s opportunity to get some revenge in the two team’s second clash in just one week. NAX’s special teams did the damage against Prairie on Saturday, killing off all six PHA power plays and scoring two shorthanded goals for good measure. They’d score on a first-period powerplay as well with four NAX players chipping in with a goal and an assist apiece, with Luka Samu, Teagen Bouchard, Brady Ondrus, and Will Kelts scoring four of NAX’s six goals in the U18 Prep win.

Mount Academy (4) vs Fort Erie International Academy (8) East U17 Prep

Mount Academy’s U17 Prep squad came in on Saturday looking for their first win since October 3. A long period of time, indeed, but Mount’s only previous victory came in the form of a win over Fort Erie International Academy. Fort Erie sprinted to the lead in Saturday’s game, scoring four in the first to take a 4-0 lead through one period of play. Mount Academy was seemingly out of the game, and while an excellent second period dragged them back in the game, Fort Erie extended their lead further mere seconds after Mount pulled back within one. Alexis Timbro scored two goals and four points, and Charles-Antoine Racette scored a goal and three points to lead Fort Erie’s way, with FEIA scoring four straight goals in the first and three straight goals following MA’s three-spot. FEIA ended up prevailing 8-4 in a game that saw them hit Mount’s net with 67 shots in all.

Yale Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17 Prep

Yale controlled the game from start to finish, out‑shooting North Shore 67–21 and riding a balanced offensive push to a 5–2 win. Eddie Kemp (1G), Ryder Buick (1G), Matteo Zenone (1G, 1A), Alex Li (1G), and Matthew Zaitchikov (1G) supplied the scoring, while Daniel Havard (3A), Tryson Edwards (2A) and Trae Alexander (2A) drove the playmaking. On the North Shore side, Vladimir King (1G) and Drew Fulton (1G) provided the offense, with Enan Vlad (2A) factoring in on both goals. Despite the loss, Ashton Sims (62/67) was outstanding with 62 saves, but Yale’s relentless pressure and two power‑play goals proved too much as they win a third game against NSW.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs Ulysse Academie (9) East U18 Prep

Ulysse exploded offensively in a 9–1 rout of Okanagan Hockey Ontario, powered by a monster night from Joey Rheault (3G) and strong multi‑point efforts from Vincent Gosselin (1G, 2A), Maddox Guerin (3A), Justin Bélanger (1G, 1A), Zachary Landry (1G, 1A), Jordan Rancourt (1G, 1A) and Nicolas Dubé (2A). Ulysse controlled the game from the opening puck drop, outshooting OHO 71–15 and scoring three times on the power play. Rheault completed his hat trick late in the third, while Bélanger opened the scoring on a first‑period man advantage. Easton Choffe (1G) had the lone goal for OHO, who were kept quiet by Benjamin Pilon’s (14/15) steady 14‑save performance.

STAR Hockey Academy (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy (10) Black U15

Delta Hockey Academy Black U15 overwhelmed STAR Hockey Academy in a 10–0 win, powered by a monster night from Bentley Gillis (3G, 2A) and Kevin Goodale (2G, 3A), with Jack Delaney (2G, 1A), Zach Giles (1G, 1A), Dean Jones (1G), Wynn Carey (1G), and a flawless 12‑save shutout from Holter Karpiak (12/12). Delta exploded for six goals in the first period and never looked back, adding two more in each of the final frames while STAR struggled to generate offense and spent long stretches killing penalties. It was complete control from puck drop to final horn, with Delta’s top line and power play dictating the pace and depth scoring rolling in behind them.

Fairmont Hockey (1) vs Bourget College (6) East U18 Prep

Bourget College controlled the night from start to finish, rolling to a 6–1 win over Fairmont behind a deep, balanced attack and a 30‑save outing from Jakob Cyr (30/31). Bourget jumped ahead early with first‑period goals from Myles Pittaro (1G) and Grayden Bath (1G, 1A), then blew the game open in the second with markers from Carter Verdone (1G, 1A), Elie Robert (1G), and Malik Roy (1G, 2A). Fairmont’s lone response came from Matthew Kadrie (1G) late in the middle frame, assisted by Sacha Baysal (1A) and Brixton Blum (1A). Bourget added one more in the third courtesy of Maddx Thinel (1G, 1A) to seal it. The shot clock told the same story, with Bourget dominating 46–31, while Fairmont went 0/8 on the power play and Bourget finished 1/5.

Shawnigan Lake School (5) vs BWC Academy (3) U17 Prep

Shawnigan Lake strutted into Charlie Purdey Arena like a team tired of being pushed around, and by the final buzzer they’d carved out a 5-3 win. After a cagey opening frame, Case Bartley (1G) cracked the seal with a buzzer‑beater that set the tone for a second‑period avalanche, Murgatroyd (1G), Demers (1G), and Peet (2G, 1A) piling on three goals in five electric minutes as Shawnigan turned the ice into their personal runway. BWC tried to claw back behind Liu (1G, 1A) and Pratt (1G, 1A), but every spark they found was smothered by Shawnigan’s counterpunching rhythm and Esler‑Twiss’ (24/27) calm presence in net. Even when the game tightened late, Peet iced it with a power‑play dagger into an empty cage.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (4) U18 Prep

Edge School controlled the night in a 4–2 win, breaking the game open with a three‑goal second period and outshooting Pilot Mound 45–14. Antonio Cazac (1G,1A), Luke Jamieson (1G), and Reed Reschny (1G) powered the EDGE surge, with Luke Huska (3A) piling up three apples. PMHA pushed back late Collin Friedrich (1G) scored at 9:41 of the third and Hector Kapitonov (1G) added a power play marker at 17:41 but Ashton McCann (1G, 1A) sealed it with an empty‑netter. Carsten Leyerzapf (12/14) earns the win, while Adam Courchesne (41/44) kept PMHA alive with 41saves.

North Shore Warriors (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4/SO) U18 Prep

Yale outlasted North Shore 4–3 in a shootout, surviving a 58‑save masterpiece from Elias Mitrikas (58/61) and a late NSW push in a game that swung wildly after a scoreless first. Theron Bensler (1G), Chris Kokkoris (1G, 1A), and Jonathan Bitonti (1G) powered Yale’s offense, while Vlad Ibragimov (2G, 1A) dragged the Warriors back with contribution on every goal, including the dramatic 18:04 equalizer. Chase Heide (1G) added the other NSW goal, but Bitonti delivered the lone marker in the shootout to seal it.

Edge School (4) vs OHA Edmonton Female (5) U18 Prep

Edge School and OHA Edmonton traded punches all night in a fast, momentum‑swinging matchup, but OHA’s star power ultimately carried them to a 5–4 win behind a hat trick from Riley Cooper (3G), who was simply unstoppable every time she touched the puck. OHA built early pressure with goals from Peyton Carter (1G) and Cooper, but Edge answered with a slick finish from Avaya McCann (1G) to stay within reach. The second period saw OHA stretch the lead again through Cooper, only for Edge to claw back with a shorthanded strike from Abigail Lee (2G) and a late-period equalizer by Meghan Thompson (1G). In the third, Cooper completed her hat trick and Ryann Chimera (1G, 2A) added insurance, forcing Edge to chase from behind. Lee’s power‑play marker gave Edge late life, but OHA proved too much to overcome. Goaltender Harlee Houle (14/18) stood tall sealing OHA’s 21st win of the season.

Delta Hockey Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep stayed perfect on the season with a poised, late‑game push, grinding out a 2–1 road win over Okanagan Hockey Academy in a tight, playoff‑style battle. After OHA struck first on a clean finish from Luke Edgehouse (1G), then Delta answered back when Brady Oatman (1G) buried a second‑period equalizer to swing momentum. The third period belonged to Delta’s depth and discipline, capped by Ethan Kitchen (1G) converting the game‑winner. In net, Jack Utsunomiya (28/29) was calm and clinical, outdueling Tyson Kuiack (28/30) in a goaltending duel that kept both benches tense until the final horn.

Prairie Hockey Academy (4/OT) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U17 Prep

Prairie Hockey Academy authored a gutsy, late‑surge 4–3 OT win, grinding their way through momentum swings before Seth Watson (1G) sealed it in extra time. After falling behind early, Bryden Wagner (1G, 1A) jump‑started the comeback just 20 seconds into the second, followed by a slick finish from Ramsey Thompson (1G, 2A) to tie things again after NAX briefly reclaimed the lead. Eli Piquette (1G) pushed NAX ahead once more, but PHA refused to go away, Luke Pratte (1G) buried a power‑play equalizer with 39 seconds left in regulation, setting the stage for extra time. In overtime, Thompson threaded a perfect setup to Watson, completing a three‑point night for Thompson and a statement win for a PHA group that showed poise, pushback, and timely execution when it mattered most.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs BWC Academy (2/OT) U15 Prep

BWC Academy U15 Prep edged out RINK Kelowna 2–1 in overtime. BWC controlled the pace early, outshooting RHA Kelowna 38–14 through two periods and grabbing a first‑period lead via Ethan Kartadinata (1G). But Kelowna refused to go quietly, Harrison Sharman (1G) tied it in the third. Facing a 50‑save masterpiece from Max Davis (50/52), BWC was finally able to break through when Kristian Lima (1G) buried the winner just 59 seconds into OT off a slick setup from Logan Chang (1A) to earn the win. Jordan Bigelow (24/25) was solid in the win with 24 stops, pushing BWC to 2–0 on the season series and handing Kelowna another narrow loss despite a gutsy, disciplined push.

CIH Academy (2) vs Kuper Academy (19) East U17 Prep

Kuper Academy beat CIH Academy 19–2 in a game that felt less like a contest and more like a full‑scale offensive avalanche, powered by a ruthless top‑six that never lifted its foot off the gas. Thomas Issa (3G, 4A) and Adamo Ersoni (2G, 6A) carved CIH apart shift after shift, while Angelo Jr. Colletti (2G, 3A) and Alexander Beck (2G, 4A) kept the onslaught rolling from every angle. Kuper’s puck movement was surgical, their power play was automatic all night long. CIH finally broke through late with goals from Leon Yamaguchi (1G) and Savelii Putilin (1G), but it was far too late to slow a Kuper squad that looked like it was playing on fast‑forward. Even with Shahrukh Levac (73/92) battling to keep the score respectable.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (4/OT) U17 Prep

St. George’s edged out a wild 4–3 OT finish, leaning on late-game poise to seal it. After Zach Lam (1G) opened the scoring on a power play for St. George’s, CDA punched back with quick-strike goals from Camden Masterson (1G) and Knox Vogel (1G). Gavin Payne (1G,1A) added another in the second to make it 3–1, but St. George’s refused to fade, first Michael Taylor (1G) cut the deficit before Bradey Ching (2G) took over, tying the game in the third and burying the OT winner just 45 seconds into the extra frame. Despite CDA’s defensive grit and opportunistic finishing, St. George’s controlled the key moments, capitalizing on their lone power play and riding Ching’s clutch scoring to a comeback victory.

North Shore Warriors (1) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) Female U18 Prep

Aidyn Carkner (23/24) and Emma Ward (39/42) kept clean sheets in the first with Ward making an impressive 19 saves. Elise Miller would finally breakthrough late in the second as she beat Carkner with 5:13 left in the frame for her 10th of the season. On the power play to start the third, Shawnigan would take full advantage as Grace Cooper’s ninth of the season evened the score at 1-1 just 46 seconds in. Tess McGee scored the eventual game winner for Shawnigan just a few minutes later, beating Ward for her eighth of the season. Shawnigan continued to show their stranglehold of the game in the third as Taylor Simpson scored with 3:59 left to give her team some breathing room and secure the win. Leah Hill (2A) led all skaters with two points.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (1) U18 Prep

After trading goals early in the first, Trail, BC native Ben Fragle (1G, 2A) would restore the OHA Penticton advantage. OHA Penticton’s one goal lead would carry on through the second as both Josh Wu (30/34) and Charlie Peppinck (45/46) remained perfect through the middle frame. In the third, Landon Nagle (1G, 1A) would bury OHA Penticton’s third which would go on to stand as the insurance marker in a 5-1 victory. Luke Assi (1G, 1A) and Marcus Domhof would add the late pair while Peppinck stood on his head for a massive 45-save performance to close out our Saturday.
